Dear Parents,

It’s with great pleasure and joy that we welcome you to the First term of the 2018/2019 academic session in Chasteville School. We are grateful to the Almighty God who saw us through the last session and we also say a big thank you to all our parents for your cooperation, understanding, care, and contributions to the success of the last session. The success recorded would have been impossible without you. The last session was awesome but this session promises to surpass it as we are poised to scale new heights raising a total child. Chasteville is a school committed to excellence in all things and this session has been carefully and strategically crafted to achieve more for our pupils.

Here’s a list of some important information for this term:

Parents’ Forum:

The parents’ forum of Chasteville School is a meeting where our parents get to interact with the school management to deliberate on issues concerning the school. This meeting would hold on Saturday 22nd September 2018 at the school’s premises. Details of this meeting would be communicated soon.

Independence Day/Cultural Day Celebrations:

This year we would be celebrating the independence and cultures of our great nation on Friday 28th September 2018. The cultural day celebration is geared towards promoting our indigenous cultures and inculcating a patriotic spirit in our children. In the past years, the cultural day has been marked with color, rich cultural diversity, and glamour. This year promises to be more interesting, educative and enriching for our pupils and parents alike. We hope to see you there. More information on this event would be communicated to you soon.

World Teachers’ Day:

As they say, teachers are like candles who burn themselves out to give the light for others to see. The value and impact of teachers in our society cannot be overemphasized. We would join the whole world to celebrate our teachers on Friday the 5th of October, 2018.

Parental Role In Raising Geniuses/Improving Child Academic Performance

I came across this intriguing message and I thought to share with us parents.

I had 6 A1’s, 10 B’s and only 1 C and in my five years studying Engineering at the University of Lagos I graduated with a 4.85 First Class CGPA (97%), I won numerous awards in secondary school – but that is not even the main story.

Up until Primary 3, I couldn’t read short passages or even solve simple Maths questions correctly – always coming 22nd out of 24 pupils and always promoted on trial.

My classmates and teachers thought I was dull but they were wrong, very wrong.

All I needed was someone to patiently explain what was hurriedly discussed in class-topics like fractions, oral English, science etc. and at that time, my grandma came to my help.

Being a head teacher who had some free time, grandma began teaching me privately. Two hours of lessons every day, was all it took for me to move to 10th position, then to 4th position, then to the 1st position; and eventually graduating with a First Class!

You see, I succeeded because, instead of letting me fail, my grandma took action on my behalf, teaching me step-by-step till I became a superstar. That’s the power of tutoring!

My thought

  • Parents should create time for their children to improve their academic performance.
  • Geniuses are nurtured by parents and schools while teachers only build on the foundation laid at home.
  • If you want to raise a genius. Create time to tutor your child. Dr. Ben Carson’s mother did and his story changed. Yours can change also.

School Fees and other payments

We hereby implore our valued parents to pay up any outstanding fees in due time. This is to facilitate a smooth and effective running of the school. Late payments are highly discouraged as they hinder excellent service delivery and affect a child’s education. Kindly note that pupils with outstanding fees would not be given learning materials this term till all fees are paid.

Once again we say a big welcome. We look forward to working together with you to achieve greater heights this term. Our children are the future so let’s give them the best we can and build a better tomorrow and a greater nation.

Chasteville School …… where tomorrow begins.
